School Performance Data

We are immensely proud of our school’s consistent academic success. Our unwavering commitment to high expectations across all areas, while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and enriching educational environment, ensures that every child is given the opportunity to succeed.
Below are two letters from the Minister of Schools, Damian Hinds, recognising our outstanding Phonics Screening Check (PSC) and Key Stage 2 SATs results in 2023.
Our performance placed us in the top 1% nationally, with 93% of our pupils meeting or exceeding national standards in reading, writing, and mathematics and 100% having met the expected standard in the PSC check. These achievements are a testament to the hard work of our pupils, the dedication of our staff, and the strong partnership between school and families, all contributing to our ethos of "Growing Greatness."
A child is considered to have reached a Good Level of Development (GLD) in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) if they are working at the expected standard or exceeding the expected standard in the following areas of learning:

  • Prime areas: Personal, social, and emotional development; physical development; and communication and language.
  • Specific areas: Literacy and mathematics.
In 2023, 83% of our Reception pupils attained a Good Level of Development against the Early Years Framework which is substantially higher than the national average of 67%.

The Phonics Screening Check is a yearly assessment of a child's phonics knowledge. It's given to children in Year 1 to determine if pupils have learnt phonic decoding to an appropriate standard.

The check assesses a child's ability to:
  • Sound out and blend graphemes to read simple words.
  • Read one- and two-syllable words that are phonically decodable.
  • Read nonsense words.
In 2024, 98% of our Year 1 pupils attained the expected standard in the Phonics Screening Check, significantly higher than the national average of 79%.
