A Birthday Gift to Those in Need: Rahil’s Inspiring Act of Kindness
18th July 2025
At Whiteknights Primary School, we take pride in recognising the achievements of our pupils—both in the classroom and beyond. Through our Knighthood Scheme, we actively celebrate the values and actions that demonstrate character, kindness, and social responsibility.
This term, we are incredibly proud to share a heartfelt story from Rahil in Year 2, whose thoughtfulness and compassion have left a lasting impression.
In response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis, Rahil made the decision to raise money for children impacted by global conflict. Instead of receiving birthday presents this year, he asked friends and family to donate to the charity. His original target was £200—but through the generosity he inspired, Rahil raised over £1,000.
This remarkable gesture reflects not only our school values of Challenge, Wonder and Aspire, but also the qualities of compassion, responsibility, and global awareness—values we are proud to be nurturing across the school. It also speaks directly to the spirit of our Knighthood Scheme, which encourages pupils to aspire to be courageous, kind, and reflective members of the community.
We also want to recognise and thank Rahil’s parents, whose support and encouragement clearly played an important part in guiding such a thoughtful and mature act.
Rahil’s actions show how even small choices can make a big difference. He has set a powerful example of what it means to live out our school values, and we could not be prouder.
Well done, Rahil—and thank you for reminding us all of the positive impact one person can have.
