Cracking the Code: Year 2 Explore Databases in Computing!

This half term, Year 2 are diving into the fascinating world of databases! They are learning how to collect, organise, and search through data to answer both simple and complex questions. 

Last week, pupils explored data collection by asking questions and gathering information about the different types of homes we live in. They then presented their findings using a pictogram, making it easy to compare and analyse.

Did you know? Every day, Google processes over 8.5 billion searches—that’s more than 100,000 searches per second! Databases help store and organise all this information, making it possible to find answers in an instant.
