ActivKids UK Inspires Whiteknights!
Last week, ActivKids UK visited Whiteknights for a dynamic and inspiring initiative aimed at promoting fitness, healthy living and positive mental health.
ActivKids UK specialises in organising events in primary schools nationwide, where a Team GB athlete visits the school to conduct a fitness circuit challenge for the pupils, followed by a motivational school assembly.
We were honoured to host James Vogel, an aspiring Olympic athlete. James is currently a member of one of the most prestigious and historic rowing clubs in the world, swiftly working towards representing Great Britain at the Olympics. During our school assembly, James shared insights from his own career and personal challenges, emphasising the importance of staying active, eating well and prioritising mental health. The interactive session allowed our pupils to ask questions and glean valuable tips for leading a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
The event not only served as a source of motivation for our school but also helped us raise valuable funds. From the total amount raised, funds are divided between the school and ActivKids UK. A portion is allocated to the school for investment in new sports equipment or programmes aimed at improving physical activity and well-being, while the remainder supports ActivKids UK in funding athletes and sustaining the initiative.
Thanks to the generous support and active participation of the Whiteknights community, our school will receive approximately £500. These funds will undoubtedly make a significant contribution towards supporting various sporting activities and initiatives within our school.
