Knighthood Scheme

At Whiteknights, we aim to nurture personal growth and prepare pupils for the next stages of their learning and life through our innovative Knighthood Scheme. Originally developed for Year 6, this programme takes inspiration from the training of medieval knights and teaches valuable life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, and reflection.
In medieval times, young people trained to become knights through a series of stages—starting as a Page, progressing to a Squire, and ultimately becoming a Knight, all while following a strict code of chivalry. We have adapted these stages into a modern-day framework where pupils take part in activities that promote service, leadership, and self-awareness. For Year 6 pupils, the journey concludes with a celebratory banquet at the end of the year, where they are officially knighted after successfully completing their challenges.
The 2024–2025 academic year marks the first time our Knighthood Scheme has been extended across the whole school. Linked to our PSHE curriculum, Connect, this positive citizenship programme supports pupils from Year 1 through to Year 6, encouraging them to consider their role in society and the ways they can contribute to their school and wider community.
Key milestones:
  • PAGE status by the end of Year 2
  • SQUIRE status by the end of Year 4
  • KNIGHT status by the end of Year 6
Tasks are completed both in school and at home, helping pupils to develop new skills, support others, and reflect on their personal growth.
