Seaside Wonders: Exploring Year 2's Coastal Creations

18th October 2024
In Year 2, we have been diving into our Geography topic of "The Seaside". The children have been learning about the key features of the seaside, the difference between beaches and harbours, and exploring how seaside holidays have changed over time. As part of their home learning, the pupils were asked to create a project inspired by what they’ve been studying.
We are thrilled to present some of the fantastic projects that have been completed! From models of sea shores and lighthouses, to creative recounts of visits to the seaside, our Year 2 pupils have truly embraced this opportunity to extend their learning.
Key Learning from this Half Term:
  • Identifying the human and physical features of the seaside.
  • Recognising the changes at the seaside, past and present.
  • Naming and locating the seven continents.
It has been a joy to see the children’s enthusiasm and creativity. Their projects are now proudly displayed in the KS1 corridor for everyone to enjoy. A big well done to our Year 2 pupils for their fantastic effort!
